No es ningún secreto que las iglesias, lugares que deberían ser santuarios de los males que asolan al resto de la sociedad, no siempre han sido los espacios seguros que deberían ser. La Iglesia Episcopal y la Diócesis de Nueva Jersey están comprometidas a garantizar la seguridad de toda nuestra gente mientras están en nuestras iglesias o son parte de nuestras actividades. Es por eso que la diócesis requiere que todos los líderes de la iglesia, tanto laicos como clérigos, tomen “Capacitación de Iglesia Segura” una vez cada cinco años. La formación tiene por objeto prevenir la explotación y el acoso sexuales tanto de niños como de adultos. Esta capacitación se requiere cada cinco años para el clero, los guardianes, los empleados, el personal de la iglesia, los visitantes eucarísticos laicos y cualquier persona que trabaje regularmente con o cerca de niños o jóvenes.
