O PRAISE YE THE LORD! A FESTIVAL OF HYMNS
Celebrate the Easter season in a way that only the American Guild of Organists can! Join us in a festival of hymns, featuring jubilant settings for organ, choir, brass, and congregation led by members of the Central New Jersey chapter of the AGO on the boisterous four-manual, 74-rank Petty-Madden organ and in the sumptuous acoustic of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Trenton.
Parry’s superb hymn summons us: “O praise ye the Lord, all things that give sound.” We have had a terrific response from participant members and their choirs. The program features organ solos, congregational hymn settings and 50-70 singers from member choirs who will perform anthems on their own and join together in a massed arrangement of Hubert Parry’s O PRAISE YE THE LORD with organ, brass quartet, and congregation to close the program. Reception follows.
Please come! Bring guests! The afternoon should be full of beautiful, rousing music and hymns for you to sing. Trinity Cathedral is lovely. Please spread the word!
Free and open to the public
