United Thank Offering (UTO)

The United Thank Offering (UTO) is a ministry of The Episcopal Church for the mission of the whole church. Through UTO, individuals are invited to embrace and deepen a personal daily spiritual discipline of gratitude. UTO encourages people to notice the good things that happen each day, thank God for those blessings, and make an offering for each blessing using a UTO Blue Box. UTO is entrusted to receive the offerings and to distribute 100% of what is collected to support innovative mission and ministry throughout The Episcopal Church and Provinces of the Anglican Communion.

You might be pondering…..Why Gratitude? Well… read on!

From the UTO website: Gratitude is a pretty simple concept but is something that many people find hard to practice. Being grateful requires simply noticing something good in your life and responding with thanks. Noticing more good things, feeling gratitude for them, and thanking the people who made those good things possible builds positivity and happiness in both the grateful person and the thanked people.

This creates a spreading circle of gratitude and kindness. Because learning to be grateful requires practice, UTO provides materials and creates opportunities for anyone to begin or deepen a gratitude practice.

GRATITUDE RESOURCES

The United Thank Offering National team provides a multitude of terrific ideas for general gratitude exploration, spiritual resources, a Prayer Book, specific program for Len, Christmas, Summer, etc. Check out their site and feel free to contact Canon Caroline, our Province II UTO representative to the National Board for more information. She is happy to help you create and plan a parish Ingathering, or to come and speak to your UTO group or vestry as well.

Gracious God, we come before you in the
knowledge that although we are varied in
our gifts, we are united as laborers in your
harvest. With grateful hearts, we give
thanks for the blessings and challenges
that inspire the work of the United Thank
Offering.

Dios Misericordioso, venimos a Ti sabiendo
que a pesar de tener diversos dones
estamos unidos como trabajadores en tu
cosecha. Con corazones agradecidos,
damos gracias por las bendiciones y retos
que inspiran la labor de la Ofrenda Unida
de Gracias (UTO).
