Make Room – A Child’s Guide to Lent and Easter: An illustrated book recommended for children 8-12 presents Lent as a special time for creating a welcoming space for God.

The Hope of Glory: Reflections on the Last Words of Jesus from the Cross: Jon Meacham’s new book for adults looking for an excellent Lenten read.  

The Bible Project: A comprehensive resource for families that helps people experience the Bible as a unified story that leads to Jesus. Text, videos, word study, and other features bring the content home. The Bible Project is sending out weekly emails designed to help families worship and learn while they can’t go to church.

Way of Love At Home activity for children: Kids build a Lenten chain in your house, and each day you can pick one of the aspects of the Way of Love, do a reflection or activity as listed on the link, and add it to the chain.

“What is Lent? Video Series: Join clergy from the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey for simple, straightforward discussion of the days of Lent, their meaning, and the practices generally followed by the church.

Lent in a Box: (minimal cost) With this downloadable resource, your church will create pizza boxes filled with all-age devotions and activities to distribute to families to help them observe Lent at home. Everything a family needs to do the activities will be in the box (aside from normal household supplies like markers and tape). We have created the devotions and activities for you.

Faith at Home: A Lenten resource for the whole family from Forma. Lectionary-based reflections and prompts for families (however that is defined) and friend groups. Each section is written by one of our diverse contributors with a specific pairing in mind–Adult to Littles, Adult to Middles , Adult to Bigs and Adult to Adult –so families of all types and sizes can dive deeper into the scriptures together. Additionally, each week will feature one unifying question that reaches across all four reflections.

Christ Walk: Need to get out and stretch? Christ Walk is a 40-day Lenten devotional that pairs physical training and spiritual practices.

A Voice From the Desert and the Prayer Book in the Face of Covid-19: The Rev. Canon Dr. Kevin Moroney suggests that “as we all struggle to discern how to be the Church and how to worship as a Christian community in light of this pandemic, it may be helpful to see that we have more resources in our tradition than we may realize.”
