United Thank Offering Training Days

Contributed by: The Rev. Canon Heather L. Melton, Staff Officer, United Thank Offering

The United Thank Offering (UTO) is a ministry of The Episcopal Church for the mission of the whole church. Through UTO, individuals are invited to embrace and deepen a personal daily spiritual discipline of gratitude. UTO encourages people to notice the good things that happen each day, give thanks to God for those blessings and make an offering for each blessing using a UTO Blue Box. UTO is entrusted to receive the offerings, and to distribute the 100% of what is collected to support innovative mission and ministry throughout The Episcopal Church and Provinces of the Anglican Communion.

We hope that you will join us for our summer virtual training event Saturday July 9–10! By registering for the event, you’ll receive a UTO swag bag in the mail, new coloring sheets from Illustrated Ministry and UTO, early access to the 2023 UTO Grant application and more. Can’t make it the whole time? That’s okay, just come for the workshops that interest you or the times that work.

We know this is a long time to be on zoom, so we’ve included breaks throughout the day. Each break will begin with a new UTO video. During breaks we will leave the space open for people to interact and have trivia up (like when you’re waiting on a movie to start). The break will end with a raffle drawing for a prize.

Each workshop will include a presentation addressing the topic (which will be recorded and available for viewing from our website at a later time), and then participants will go into breakout rooms for members and parish coordinators or diocesan coordinators to discuss the topic as it relates specifically to their work. There will also be time for Q&A in each breakout room. You may register for one or all of the events, and may come and go for the events that interest you. We look forward to seeing you then and talking about all things UTO.
