Trinity Episcopal Church is seeking a part-time Organist and Choir Director for a historic, family-sized congregation in Swedesboro, NJ. The congregation currently holds one Sunday morning service.
The organist will be available to play and lead music on Sunday mornings, holy days, and for seasonal concerts. The Organist and Choir Director will have right of first refusal for all funerals and weddings. The Organist and Choir Director will choose music (in coordination with the Vicar). The Organist and Choir Director will also direct a trio of residential, vocal music interns. The Organist and Choir Director will work to recruit members of the congregation (and wider community) to help with Sunday music offerings. The candidate should be familiar with Episcopal liturgy and also open to a variety of creative music options. The Organist and Choir Director will be responsible for managing the parish music library and keeping staff aware of any needs with regard to music equipment
Trinity Episcopal Church hosts music interns who are recently graduated music students from local universities. Interns live in residence and provide Sunday music, while also exploring their journeys of faith. The Organist and Choir Director will be a resource to this program.
