This Lent, begin a new, contemplative prayer practice of praying with Anglican Prayer Beads, similar to a rosary, but in a simpler, easier form.
To help you get started, the Diocese of New Jersey has created a “Praying with Anglican Prayer Beads” video series.
Praying with beads is a way to enter a deeper, more meditative prayer space. The feel of the beads combined with the repetitive nature of the prayers help focus the mind and invite the Spirit in.
In this series of short videos, you can follow along as we pray three types of prayer bead devotions:
- Traditional Prayer features familiar devotions.
- Serenity Prayer is built around the “Serenity Prayer” and other devotions to give over power to God.
- Healing Prayer asks for intercession for ourselves or others in need of healing.
All prayers appear on screen, and you can pray with us even if you don’t have your own set of beads.
