Final Slate of Candidates Reviewed; to Be Released by End of Oct.

Contributed by: Talbot Kramer, Education and Communications Subcommittee

Thursday night, the Standing Committee of the Diocese received and approved the slate of candidates for the next Bishop of New Jersey. Though there had been some indication that the slate would be announced immediately, the decision was made to delay the announcement slightly, to give candidates time to inform their parishes and bishops, so that they are not reading about it on the internet.

In December of 2021, the members of the Bishop Search Committee gathered and resolved that with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, they would present a slate of candidates for the election of the 13th Bishop of the Diocese of New Jersey.  The committee has fulfilled its commitment and was guided through the process by God’s hand at every step of the journey. That journey has culminated with a  slate of diverse, talented, spiritual, and exciting candidates that will be released to the Diocese by the end of this month! The committee eagerly awaits the opportunity to introduce these candidates to the Diocese in the coming days, and thanks the entire Diocese for its prayers and support throughout this process.
