We all have a responsibility to be good stewards of God’s creation.

The mission of the Animal Welfare Ministry is to open hearts and minds as we strive to heal the spiritual disconnection with God’s creatures that has led to the exploitation of animals for human gain and the degradation of our natural environment.

We have a four-fold strategy for completing this mission:

  • To be a voice for the voiceless against systemic practices of animal cruelty, degradation, and commercial exploitation.
  • To provide the diocese with an education and awareness program for animal welfare concerns, as directed by Diocesan Resolution 2017-4.
  • To foster the celebration of our fellow creatures as a gift from God.
  • To provide pastoral counseling resources for the loss of a companion animal.

There is an exciting opportunity to join an online Educational and Awareness Forum at 10:00 am on January 22, 2022.  Here are a few surprising things you will hear about:

  • The impact of our eating habits and food supply chains on the environment.
  • How each of us can make a difference to the preservation of God’s creation with just a few simple lifestyle changes. (We will show you how!)
  • Cruelty-free (not animal tested) household cleaning products and toiletries that are readily available now, – it’s our choice!

We look forward to seeing you online at 10:00 am on January 22!
