Recording of the Oct. 15 ECS-NJ Summit, with guest speaker the Rev. Eric Dobson, Deputy Director, Fair Share Housing Center, talking on “Housing in New Jersey: A Gospel Justice Issue.” The recipients of the Fall 2022 ECS-NJ grants were also announced at the meeting.
Saturday’s ECS–NJ Summit on Building and Equipping the Beloved Community brought together more than 40 participants to hear about the Gospel Justice issue of affordable housing in New Jersey, as well as the announcement of the Fall 2022 ECS–NJ grant recipients.
Guest speaker the Rev. Eric Dobson, Deputy Director of Fair Share Housing Center, provided an informative and inspiring presentation on one of the basic issues of human equality, access to affordable housing, and how we as people of faith can act to help ensure it.
In the summit, seven congregations were awarded more than $85,000 in Fall 2022 ECS-NJ Grant Recipients. This brings grant amounts to well over $300,000 in the first two years of ECS–NJ’ existence.
With the addition of these new grant recipients, ECS-NJ proactively provides resources to 25 projects throughout 11 counties. But we cannot carry out this work without the support of donors like you. We encourage you to be proactive and become a sustaining donor to ECS-NJ.
Becoming a sustaining donor is a WIN-WIN situation—not only will ECS-NJ be able to allocate support to those who need it most, but allows for ease in your charitable giving without the worry of missing a payment—you set the frequency, select the contribution amount and payment method, and your gift continues to give over time.
ECS-NJ is a means by which we live into our baptismal promises to seek and serve Christ in all persons loving our neighbor as ourselves, striving for justice and peace among all people and respecting the dignity of every human being. We appreciate your prayers and support and ask that you consider being proactive by becoming a sustaining donor. Thank you for your prayerful consideration!
