Black History Month Celebration February 13th, 2022 @ 11:15 am via Zoom and Facebook We will observe Black History Month with a special event following the 10 AM Service. Our Guest Speaker will be Dr. Chris Pernell. In her public health practice, Dr, Chris, as she is known, focuses on health justice, community-based advocacy, health promotion, and disease prevention. NJBiz named her a Public Health Hero in 2020 and she received the Ron Davis Special Recognition Award from the American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM). Known for her spearheading work in the greater Newark area, she serves on the Essex County Civilian Task Force as a medical expert. Prison reform, care for justice-involved populations, evidence-based wellness programs, civic health, and high-quality education are areas of impassioned focus. She is a frequent contributor across television, radio, and print media, including an appearance on CBS This Morning. We look forward to welcoming her to St. Francis!
