Position: Episcopal Community Services-NJ, Administrative Director

Episcopal Community Services (ECS-NJ) is a 501C3 charitable organization whose mission is to proactively address human needs by providing grants to congregation of the Diocese of New Jersey, supporting and enabling the development of new or the expansion of existing outreach ministries. The organization is currently searching for a “transitional”, half-time Administrative Director who will sign a 12 month contract (with the possibility of renewal) and report to the Advisory Council and the Board of Directors. The person who fills this position (either Clergy or Lay) will have significant experience in organizational leadership and possess administrative and fundraising/development skills. Ongoing responsibilities include:

Compensation

  • This is a half-time contract position. Compensation will be commensurate with a candidate’s professional experience with a range between $45 and $50K per year.

Qualifications

  • We are looking for an individual who has demonstrated success and a high level of administrative experience providing leadership either of a department in a large organization or as executive director of a smaller non-profit.
  • The successful candidate will have established a track record of success in all aspects of organizational advancement (annual giving; major gifts and planned giving).

Leadership and strategy

  • Facilitate the achievement of the organization’s strategic goals and high-level commitments
  • Work with the Advisory Council and the Board of Directors in discerning the future direction of the organization.

Development/Fundraising

  • Working in close collaboration with the Assistant Director of Communications and Development to generate the financial resources needed to sustain and expand the ministry.

Communications and Public Relations

  • Work in partnership with the Assistant Director of Communications and Development to highlight the accomplishments and expand the awareness of the organization.
  • Represent the organization as the “human face”: of ECS-NJ to the general public and the congregations and parishioners of the Diocese of New Jersey.
  • Coordination and administration
  • Manage and support the operations of the Advisory Council teams (Advocacy; Communications; Development; Education and Events; Grant Making).
  • Partner with the Treasurer to monitor organization’s finances and report on performance and financial activities to Board.
