As one of the first successful mergers of three churches in the 1970s, Holy Trinity has had to cultivate a genuine spirit of welcome and hospitality. So many churches say they are “welcoming,” but Holy Trinity lives deeply into that hospitality. I have never once seen a visitor ignored, ungreeted, or a coffee hour invitation left un-extended. We believe deeply that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is good news, specifically good news for people who need it! God extends God’s grace to us unconditionally; and we, by the power and inspiration of the Holy Spirit, try to do the same.
Our most vibrant and active ministries include our weekly Bible studies (on Wednesday at 10:15 AM and now available via a podcast!), our seasonal book clubs (usually a weekday evening), and our support of Family Promise of Southwestern New Jersey. We believe that to proclaim Good News we have to know what that “news” is, apply it to our lives, and live it out by the power and inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
Our Mission: Holy Trinity Proclaims the Good News of God’s Grace to Everyone.
Our Core Values
We worship God through liturgy, prayer, Scripture, and traditional music.
“Ascribe to the LORD the honor due his Name; bring offerings and come into his courts. Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness; let the whole earth tremble before him.” (Psalm 96:8-9, BCP)
We welcome everyone as beloved children of God.
“Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30, KVJ)
We fellowship together, united as the body of Christ and the family of God.
“Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having the goodwill of all the people. And day by day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:46-47, NRSV)
We share our time and resources to serve the physical and spiritual needs of individuals and communities.
“Then the king will say to those at his right hand, ‘Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me…Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.’”
(Matthew 25:34-26, 40, NRSV)
We are formed into the image of Christ through education, fellowship, service, and worship.
“‘Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.'” (Matthew 28:19-20, NRSV)
