Holy Trinity Ocean City

Holy Trinity Episcopal Church has been giving the WORD voice in Ocean City since 1894. The first church was established at 11th and Central Avenues. In the early 1970s, the church moved to its current location at 30th and Bay Avenue. Our St. Mary’s Guild sponsors an annual Flea Market, Rummage Sale, and Christmas Fare. Our church works with Family Promise, an organization in South Jersey that provides short-term housing for those in need. Members of our parish volunteer with our local Food Cupboard and Clothes Closet. Our choir sings at the 10:00 AM Celebration of Eucharist each Sunday. We have a Saturday Vigil Celebration of Holy Eucharist, which gathers at 5:00 PM from Labor Day to Memorial Day and 5:30 PM from Memorial Day to Labor Day. We also have an 8:00 AM Sunday Celebration of the Holy Eucharist. We are a welcoming and inclusive community that recognizes that each person is created in the image and likeness of our God.

Our Mission: We are a community of welcoming believers who trust in the Gospel message Jesus gave us: a message of love, inclusivity, justice, mercy, and joy. At Holy Trinity, the Gospel is proclaimed, voices are raised in song, and community is shared. Our hearts and doors are open.

Worship

Faith is inspired through worship, which is a corporate expression of our desire to be in intentional relationship with God. Episcopal worship, or liturgy, is participatory with members of the congregation singing hymns, saying prayers, and reading Biblical lessons from the Old and New Testaments, the Psalms, and the Gospels. It is also sacramental – we take communion and celebrate The Great Thanksgiving or Eucharist every week. In this way, we hope our worship services will stimulate your curiosity and soothe your heart.

Outreach

At Holy Trinity, we strive to love God and neighbor. We understand our call to be advocates of God’s justice by our compassionate service to others and care of creation. We undertake ministries that express our faith and build ecumenical and community partnerships. Join us by going beyond the church doors to help heal a hurting world in Southern New Jersey and beyond.

Formation

Being a part of a Christian community provides a setting for Christian formation and education. At the heart of this education are the Bible and how we understand scripture, the traditions of Christian spirituality, and how Christians care for the world. We explore through classes, lectures, Bible study, and fellowship what it means to follow Jesus, to love God, and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Fellowship

We celebrate the relationships we have with each other. The most regular and visible sign of our life together may be the Coffee Hour. Other activities, such as St. Mary’s Guild, Circle, Coffee Fellowship, Sisters of Ruth, and Altar Guild, also provide avenues for fellowship.
