Saint James Episcopal Church is part of the Diocese of New Jersey. Under the leadership of the Right Reverend William H. Stokes, D.D., The Diocese of New Jersey covers the lower two-thirds of the state. We are also part of the Episcopal Church, a Christian denomination that is primarily situated in the United States. The current Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church is the Most Reverend Michael B. Curry. As part of the Episcopal Church, our worship is based on the Book of Common Prayer. This centuries-old book unites Episcopalians in prayer, encouraging the idea that using words in common during worship helps to bind us together as Christians. Saint James Episcopal Church is also part of the Anglican Communion. This world-wide association of churches encompasses the Episcopal Church and the Church of England as well as many others.
