Call for Nominations for Diocesan Convention

Since the annual Diocesan Convention has been rescheduled from March 7 to November 14, this reopens the ability to submit nominations for persons to be elected at the Convention.

Diocesan Canon 5, Section 4 provides that the Nominating Committee can accept nominations up to January 1, but following that date additional nominations may be submitted to the Secretary of Convention “no later than 45 days before the meeting of the Convention”. The rescheduling thus extends the nominations window to September 30, 2020. The offices to be filled and the nominees to date, along with vacant slots that need to be filled, are:

 

Office A: Standing Committee – Clergy

(to be filled: one 4-year term, one 2-year unexpired term) (nominees must be canonically resident in the Diocese)

There were a couple of nominations that were submitted in February that were too late for the prior deadline for nominations. Now that the deadline is extended due to the rescheduling of the Convention, those nominations may now be re-submitted.
