Gain the tools to develop or enhance your congregation’s communications.

Social Media is a vital part of any communications plan; in this workshop, Canon Jonathan Elliott will walk attendees through a brief history of social media, which forms of it are essential for churches, and how to set up these technologies and guidelines for their use in your congregation. He will also distribute and discuss the new diocesan standards and practices for social media, including the ethical and legal best practices in using these technologies in evangelism and storytelling.
Bring your own device—there will be ample opportunities for questions, answers, and hands-on practice.

Jonathan Elliott is the Director of Communications for the Diocese. He holds a MA in arts management from George Mason University, specializing in new media technologies and not-for-profit finance. He has worked in management, communications, and administration for the American Board of Ophthalmology, ArtPride New Jersey Foundation, Grounds for Sculpture, Princeton Summer Theater at Princeton University, The Contemporary American Theater Festival, Sycamore Rouge Center for the Arts, and McCarter Theatre Center. His specialties include tailoring communications needs and resources to fit a variety of budgets, levels of comfort, and personnel support.
