Sanctuary Sunday

March 5, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The lives of immigrants and refugees are being threatened by deportation.  Children born in the United States may lose their parents, families may lose their breadwinners, and individuals who have only contributed to the betterment of all of our lives will be expelled from our society without provocation or offered the opportunity or pathway to gain lawful citizenship.

We at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church are proud that we are located in a Sanctuary City and wish to invite you and your parishioners to worship with us in an interfaith service, Sanctuary Sunday.   Additionally, St. Elizabeth’s is inviting several community, State and national leaders to join us.  Together we will pray for the safety of our immigrant and refugee brothers and sisters, and we will pray for the leaders of our communities and nation so they will have the wisdom and strength to fight for true justice. This interfaith service scheduled for March 5th at 2:00 P.M. at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church located at 305 North Broad Street, Elizabeth NJ.   If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at (908) 289-0681 or email us at stelizabethschurch@verizon.netSanctuary Sunday information will be on our website, www.stelizabethschurchnj.org.

This is a time when our nation needs our prayers and our continued commitment to God’s commandment, Love thy neighbor as thyself.
