Come to the Table: A Service in Celebration of Our Various Abilities Speaker will be The Rev. Deacon Gene Bourquin, Pastoral Missioner to the Deaf, Diocese of New York. Welcoming and celebrating the differing gifts and abilities of members of parishes and congregations of the Diocese of New Jersey, this Eucharist is for all of us, beloved of God, in all our various shapes and forms. Each of us, made in the image of a gracious God, hold high our dignity and joy in service to our Church and our Lord. This will be a time to support and uphold the many ways we may be called to serve, be it as ushers, singers, deacons, acolytes, etc. utilizing our many different abilities and gifts. The service will be in the Cathedral Chapel. Reception to follow. Come to the Table pays tribute to all those in our various churches who give outstanding service to God, because of, or in spite of, all manner of differing abilities. We also witness to and celebrate the lives and influences of those in our midst who directly minister to differently-abled people through support, transportation, enablement, and ennoblement. Each parish in the Diocese of New Jersey should nominate up to three people, Blessings in whom Christ lives and shines in either of these categories.
