AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE

What you need to know about donating blood in the age of COVID-19:
- There is no data or evidence that this coronavirus can be transmitted by blood transfusion, and there have been no reported cases of transfusion transmission for any respiratory virus including this coronavirus worldwide
- The Red Cross is continually monitoring the outbreak of the coronavirus disease. Normal operations to collect donated blood are continuing
- Donating blood is considered an “essential” activity (okay to leave home to donate per social distancing guidelines)
- Blood drives always have the highest standards of safety and infection control. Out of caution, however, the Red Cross has enhanced donor screening and site-specific protections for the safety of donors and staff
- Blood is only collected from individuals who are healthy, feeling well, and symptom-free at the time of donation
