St. Bernard’s Church is hosting a free concert featuring the acclaimed organist, Olivier Eisenmann, and flautist, Verena Steffen on Thur. March 16, at 7:30 pm. As an internationally active musical couple, they have been making music for more than 40 years in almost all European countries, in Russia and Iceland, but also in Australia and New Zealand as well as in the USA. Both can be heard on CDs and radio recordings. Verena Steffen likes to perform as a chamber musician in changing formations. Olivier Eisenmann received the “Weggiser Rose” as an award for his worldwide concert activities as a “musical ambassador of Weggis” and for the long-standing artistic direction of the “Weggiser Sonntagskonzerte” founded by him. In addition, he was honored by the Cultural Commission of the City of Zug with the honorary prize of the Zug Cultural Sash for great commitment to the city of Zug as well as his 40th anniversary of the “International Zug Organ Days”.
The program will run for about an hour and include works by A. Amalia, Princess of Prussia; G. Muffat, H. Hiller, P. Huber, C. Tambling, W. Eisenmann, as well as others. Olivier Eisenmann will perform on the St. Bernard’s Church organ, and Verena the flute.
