Cervantes Project: Learning Spanish and the Cultural Background of the Hispanic/Latino Population
Come and open your mind and heart to the Spanish culture and language.
Leaders: The Reverend Toribio Santos, Priest-in-Charge of San José Church in Elizabeth, New Jersey; The Reverend Salvador Ros, Rector of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Rahway, New Jersey
The Cervantes Project aims to instruct clergy and laity in listening, speaking, reading and writing Spanish; and present the basic cultural background of the Hispanic/Latino population in New Jersey and their roots in Latin America. This program will equip ministers, both clergy and laity, to better attend to the spiritual, pastoral and social needs in Spanish language ministries and missions. Sponsored by the Hispanic Commission of the Diocese of New Jersey.

The Reverend Salvador Ros is Rector of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Rahway, New Jersey. He has been in priestly ministry 33 years. He is bi-lingual and bi-cultural, born and raised in New York City. His entire ministry has focused and served Hispanics in New York City, Dominican Republic and New Jersey. Father Ros is an accomplished ESL and Spanish teacher and has a great desire to share his knowledge and experience with individuals who are willing to risk their comfort zone and be enriched with a new and challenging experience.
