“Racial Justice” – Anti-Racism Training

A 2.5 day residential workshop retreat offered on May 17 – 19, 2018, Thursday evening and all day Friday and Saturday (and followup debriefing on June 2).
Instructors are trained members of the Diocesan Anti-Racism Ministry. The workshop’s approach emphasizes learning from history to understand systemic racism, confronting internalized racial oppression, and actions to organize against the many forms of racism. Spanish/English interpretation is available upon request.
Participants must attend the full 2 1/2 days to receive a certificate of completion. The workshop is a residential retreat, beginning Thursday with group dinner at 6:00 PM followed by training until 9 PM. Friday and Saturday instruction begin after breakfast (provided) at 8:30 AM. The workshop ends on Saturday at approximately 4 PM.

Double occupancy hotel rooms shared
with one other person are provided by
the diocesan budget. Participants may choose to commute.
Participants pay a $50 nonrefundable registration fee to reserve a place and offset tuition, meals, and workshop costs. Scholarships are available. Non-members of the diocese pay $450.
